 Today, Goat Eid is being celebrated all over the world. It is one of the festivals of the Muslim community. Another name for this Eid is Korbani Eid or Eid-al-Adha. Different names of this Eid in different places. Muslims generally observe two types of Eids, Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-al-Adha. It is one of the two biggest festivals of the Muslim community. Both Eids begin with the sighting of the new moon. As the new moon rises in the sky, the followers of Islam in different countries join in this festival. On this day, everyone, big or small, puts on new clothes and prays together in the open. Then everyone hugged everyone and wished Eid.

 This festival is celebrated with utmost devotion all over the world. This Eid is called Eid of Sacrifice. In this festival, one has to make some sacrifices or offerings to Allah. Another name for this Eid is Bakri Eid because of the use of goats or goats for sacrifice. On the other hand, the Arabic word ‘bakra’ means cow. And for this reason, Goat Eid is also celebrated by sacrificing cows. Eid-al-Adha is celebrated on the tenth day of the twelfth and last month of the Hijri calendar. It is said that Hazrat Ibrahim went to sacrifice his son to Allah according to the dream of Allah. Then Allah Himself appeared to him and gave him a sheep and told him to sacrifice this sheep instead of the boy. From then onwards, before this festival, Muslims bought sheep, goats and camels and sacrificed them in the name of Allah on the day of Eid.

The date of Eid depends locally on the sighting of the moon in the month of Jbilhajj. On July 10 this year, Eid al-Adha or Eid-al-Adha will be celebrated.

 The day of Eid begins with bathing and wearing new clothes for the Eid prayers. It is obligatory for all Muslim boys to perform two rak'at prayers of this Eid and for women this prayer is Sunnah. Bengali Muslims eat sweets with the whole family in the morning after prayers. There are different types of sweets in this breakfast. 

 After breakfast, Muslim men begin to prepare sacrifices for the sake of gaining Allah's pleasure. At the end of the sacrifice, according to the custom of sacrifice, the meat of the sacrifice is distributed among the poor, relatives. On this day, every Muslim goes to visit other people's houses and shares the joy among themselves. In Bengali Muslim society, the festival is not limited to Muslims, other religions also participate in the celebration.
